Testimonials
Joe and I kept in contact only a bit since our classes at NESA in late 1970's. Joe helped one of my patients in Louisville to overcome a fertility problem.
I did not know Joe's wife or children, but I remember him well from our classes together. He was bright, fully engaged and eager to treat people who were suffering and to share his views on many treatment options with students at any level of learning. He was a focused, intelligent, kind and gentle person.
With respect to Joe and his Family and the heart-felt beliefs that we all may share, may Joe be at peace after providing a life of service and beneficence.
Kind regards,
Rob

If it wasn't for Joe Burstein, I might not have been an acupuncturist. After graduation, Joe and I connected in South Florida. Not knowing how to get started in acupuncture, I had been working in construction. Joe started me working at acupuncture with him. We were very close while in Florida. I knew his mother and attended his wedding. Our families socialized and celebrated holidays together. Joe moved back to Boston to study Chinese herbs. Having grown up in Boston, I continued to thaw out in Florida. Occasionally we would get together when he visited his in-laws in Florida or I visited my family in Boston.
I had not been in touch with Joe for a while. In his last email to me, after his second treatment in Germany, he mentioned that he had had a difficult time but was doing better. He had been on my mind for some time and I had been meaning to call him. Last night's email came as quite a shock.
Joe was one of the finest persons I have met in this lifetime: gentle, kind, generous, and loving. He was totally dedicated to his family and his patients. With all the challenges in his life, i never heard him complain or saw him get angry. Joe could also be very funny and I appreciated his sense of humor. His passing is showing me that time and distance do not break connections of the heart. God bless him.

Thanks for the notification and heartfelt sentiments we all share. This is such a loss. Going way back to our studies with Dr. So, Joe was an exemplary classmate, and an even better colleague. I never concluded a conversation with him without feeling elevated. A bright, compassionate, dignified guy who lived life to the utmost and in accordance with the highest possible standards. I will miss him.

Joe was an incredibles practitioner and human being. I had more contact with him in his later years than after school. He was always a class A practitioner. Very dedicated, skillful and concerned. The planet will miss him though parts of his legecy will still continue. Several of our last conversations were about his formulas for breast cancer, and the effectiveness of them. He wanted me to try to get someone to make them commercially. I tried several companies, but it was hard to market that, and I couldn't get them to make it commercially. I don't know what happened to the formulas, but it would be really good if we could carry that work on. He had a lot of experience in Breast Cancer. He was a GREAT practitioner. Though we did not spend a lot of time together past school, every conversation was clear, in the moment and direct. He was an amazing human being.
